April 16th

Since it was Easter Sunday, Ave and Julie wanted to attend mass so we made arrangements to meet later at the Powder Gate. Lynn and I proceded through the Powder Gate and down the shopping street towards Old Town Square.

Lynn unsuccessfully looked for a pair of shoes along the way and I looked for souvenirs, specifically for Swarovski embellished glass nail files. My quest was more successful. There were many pretty things in the shops' windows that would have been tempting if I had unlimited cash and unlimited amount of space back home to take them.

When we arrived at Old Town Square, a very colourful Easter Market was set up there. Balloons and streamers of all colours gave the square a very festive look. There were many delicious smells coming from the outdoor grills of the vendors.

The buildings surrounding the square were all very gorgeous. The spiky towers of Church of Our Lady before Tyn were awesome. The red stone wreaths and black statues adorning the Casa de la Campana de Piedra were so pretty. The green spires of St. Nicholas Church looked good against the blue spring sky. The Prague Astronomical Clock was very elaborate. We soaked in the wonderful atmosphere of this very special place before heading off to other sights.
