April 17th

We walked down a pedestrian street from the bridge and passed many interesting shops. We came into a square surrounded by beautiful buildings (Hotel Aurus for one). My favourite was the one with the golden lady sitting on the balcony.

We walked down another narrow street behind the Klementinum library where so many medieval books might have lost during the 2002 flood but many were saved by freezing them or vacuum packing them before drying them out.

We came to another square in front of the Nova Radnice (Prague City Hall) and the Municipal Library of Prague. I liked the series of statues adorning the library but I especially liked seeing "Darth Vader" at the corner of city hall.

We turned up another street which led us to the Pinkas Synagogue and the old Jewish Cemetery. Further along, we came to the Vysoka Synagogue and the Staronova Synagogue (Old-New Synagogue - Europe's oldest active synagogue). On top of Zidovska Radnice (Jewish Town Hall) was a lovely clock tower.
