April 10th

We had an early breakfast at the Holiday Inn for an early start for our Krakow tour(a common trend in the days to come). Our local guide for this tour was Isabella, wife of Tony (Antoine) who had been our guide the previous day. As usual, our trusted and talented driver was Albert.

Our first stop was to the Jewish Quarter. When we got off of the bus, there was an interesting mural on a nearby building. We saw the Old Synagogue from behind its stone city wall and also from its courtyard. We saw where Helena Rubinstein lived and interesting hotels and cafes near it. Jan Karski was seen again as a statue at the end of the street near the Synagogue Remuh Cemetery (dating back to 16th century) where important Polish Jews are buried.

Back on the bus, we crossed the Vistula River to take a look at Oskar Schindler's factory. It's on a pretty street with flowering plants, trees and bushes. I found it interesting that across the street from where we got back on the bus was a film school.

We crossed back over the river and were dropped off near the Wawel Royal Castle.
