April 12th

My day wasn't yet complete. Although Lynn had opted out, I had chosen to go on a Danube dinner cruise. Lynn stayed on shore with Adam and Amanda and they had dinner somewhere near Octagon Square. Julie, Ave and I shared a table with Lou, a Gate 1 employee scouting his territory.

We boarded the boat at the Parliament. We cruised first around Margaret Island to the north then down the Danube as we ate a delicious buffet meal. As we returned towards the Parliament, George gave a commentary on the buildings we were passing. Although I couldn't hear him well, I still recognized many of the buildings and sites, including the Liberty Statue, Matthias Church, the Buda Castle, the monastery on the hill where the monk was rolled down the hill in a barrel, etc.

I am really glad I opted to go on this cruise because the evening was mild and the lighted buildings along the shore were gorgeous.

When Albert picked us up after the cruise, he drove along the river before turning towards the direction of the hotel. We were delayed there (near the river) for at least 5 minutes... a protest march was occurring. Thousands and thousands of students were marching in protest of unfair university regulations. When we came across them, they were marching towards Parliament. Later that night, you could see the same group march past our hotel back towards the Octagon. Lynn went back outside to see it.
