April 15th

When Ave, Julie, Lynn and I ventured out on our own, we basically retraced our steps from before but added a few different stops.

We went into several stores, a couple of times to buy things but also just to look. One interesting store contained articles such as a chandelier & couch and chairs made with deer antlers as well as a life sized corn husk doll.

On the steps of the "Kostol Najsv - Spasiteľa" church, I watched a man drawing with pastels for a while and thus lost track of the others. Eventually I found them. They had ducked down an alley which led to square where the lovely, pink Primatial Palace stood.

To get back to the main square, we went through the Old Town Hall's courtyard... Pretty!

We briefly visited the colourful market. I especially liked all the hand made goods. I especially liked the watercolors and prints of Michael's Gate.

That's where we headed next... Michael's Gate. On the way there, we spied Adam inside a restaurant. When I realized the window was reflecting the others, I took a picture which I'll call "Inside/Outside" :)

As we approached Michael's Gate, we met up with a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback. My friend used to breed these dogs and I'm sure she would have like this particular one.

We continued through Michael's Gate. Under the arch was a compass referencing other locales around the world. Just on the other side of the gate was a VERY narrow apartment... its width barely bigger than a door! There was also a Pharmacutical Museum.

Around this time, I lost track of everyone again. I went back to the other side of the gate but could only find Ave. She didn't know where Lynn or Julie were. I had her wait on that side of the gate in case the other two showed up. I went back through the gate one more time but this time, I went a bit further. I turned a bend, went through another archway and ended up on a bridge over a pretty park. I'm glad I saw these things but I couldn't see Lynn or Julie so I went back to Ave. We decided that they must have just returned on their own to the bus so we decided to do the same.

Again, we retraced our steps. We went past St Martin's Church, went through the private courtyard and ended up on the pedestrian pathway near the Hans Christian Andersen statue. There we found many of the others, including Julie and Lynn. Since time was running out, we walked back to where we were supposed to meet our bus. A Scenic (Boat Tour) bus was parked ahead of ours... That's something I'd like to do... a river cruise!!
