April 17th

We went through an archway only to be overwhelmed by St. Vitus Cathedral. It was massive and very ornate. Many people were milling around its entrance in the rain. One group was students from Canada who had been to the Vimy 100th Reunion. How did I know? Red jackets!!

Inside St. Vitus, the stained glass ruled. My personal favourite was a contemporary one by art nouveau painter, Alfons Mucha. Others were awesome, too.

Other highlights were the organ (and staircase up to it), the silver Sarcophagus of St. John of Nepomuk, the view to the altar, and the various chapels tucked away on the sides of the cathedral & behind the altar.

Hey! And as I walked out, there was a portion of a stained glass window which had significance to me!
