April 17th

Upon leaving St. Vitus, we walked across the courtyard to the corner to get a better view of the Cathedral. By then it was raining pretty hard and as a result, many of my pictures in this section include raindrops and lack of good focus because of water on my camera's lens.

Next stop was the Prague Royal Castle. Another place where photos were allowed, but you can count on someone doing so... Therefore, the most impressive place we visited there was Vladislav Hall which someone else can show you here or here. Since the view out of a particular room was so good, I did take a couple of photos OUT.

Next we visited St. George's Basilica. It is the oldest church within the castle walls. Nowadays, the church is used for concerts.

We walked further to the Golden Lane. Although built as houses for royal guards, the lane takes its name from the goldsmiths who occupied it during the 17th century. The houses are all very small and you can tell by the picture of Adam standing in front of one just how small the entrances are.

Once we'd peeked into a few of the houses on the lane, we exited the area by going down some steep stairs. Upon exiting the stairwell, we remained above much of the city so we had a nice scenic view of it.

To make our way to the bus below us, we had to walk down a long stone path whose slope was steep enough at times that there occasionally were stairs. The views over the wall were quite nice even though it continued to rain steadily.
