Around noon, Roberta and I hopped in a cab to the port. There she was... the Norwegian Jade. We dropped our suitcases (complete with preprinted tags) at the designated spot then went inside the terminal. We were given a "boarding number" and had to go through a line to check in and get our ship IDs. Once we went through the formalities, we went to an enormous waiting area where we waited for our boarding number to be called. Whie we waited, there were magazines to read and refreshments. After a while, our number was called. We went up the ramp to reach deck 7 where they scanned our IDs and allowed us into the Atrium area (deck 7). It was still not time to go to our cabins so we explored the ship a bit and had a peak out to the harbour and in towards the shore. We went to the Garden Cafe on deck 12 for a bit of lunch. After that, cabins were ready and we went directly there. Our room with a view was quite spacious. We relaxed just a bit then went out on deck when the ship sailed. We had dinner in the Grand Pacific Dining Room (deck 6) before going to the Stardust Theatre for the opening night show. The Cruise Director, Francesco, was master of ceremonies and we were given a taste of the different acts/performers we'd be seeing as the cruise progressed. When the show was over, Roberta and I went back to our cabin and we were both asleep almost instantaneously. We'd had a long day!
