Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute
Graduating Class of 1923
It was the spring of 1923 when Daniel McIntyre first opened its doors.
Some things to note:
The location of the flag pole.
The Union Jack flying on the flag pole.
The presence of above ground electrical poles.
The dirt road.
The presence of the south west wing/door. (Look to the extreme left.)
The absence of the south door. (Look below the solitary window on the South side of the school... No door!)
The smoke stack at the rear of the school. (The school's power plant was below it. The erection shed was beside it.)
Here are some photographs of the school's opening. Various school officials came to inspect the new Collegiate.
And here is a picture of some of the 1923 graduates!
